In the era of rapid technological development, the development of 21st century skills is deemed of major importance, in order for students to become capable of responding to future challenges related to social changes, information management, the modern digital society and the their professional development. The purpose of this paper is to study the new conditions in the educational landscape in the light of 21st century skills and to investigate the feasibility of their development in the primary school, the search for the characteristic elements that favor their development and the ways of their evaluation. The conclusions of the research lead to specific proposals for the enhancement of 21st century skills in primary school.
