This qualitative research aims to investigate the problems faced by a sample of philologists in Western Attica in order to identify non explicit and latent educational needs, a process that can lead to the planning of more targeted actions by the educational institutions. The sample consisted of sixteen Greek teachers serving in this regional department and the sampling was convenient. The research questions were related to the identification of the difficulties faced by the teachers during the exercise of their educational work both in the living and in the remote operation of the school units. The research results showed that teachers need to be trained in thematic areas related to the strengthening of their communication and administrative skills as well as time management skills. They also need support in managing team and conflict dynamics, new technologies, the use of collaborative methods, differentiated teaching, student motivation techniques and distance teaching methodology.
