Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the views of students and Tutors of the postgraduate program "Education Sciences" of the Hellenic Open University on the importance of developing their digital skills in order to create an effective communication framework. Utilizing the quantitative approach, the data was collected through closed-ended questionnaires. The research involved 112 students and 20 Professor-Counselors who were selected by convenient sampling. The research findings show that both students and Professors-Counselors consider the development of digital skills to contribute positively to the effective communication between them. However, the lack of digital skills, the negative attitude of learners and tutors towards digital media and technical difficulties can be obstacles in this communication.
